Increased oxidative stress and immune dysregulation are present in ASDs. Mast cell activation may contribute to gut-blood-brain-barrier disruption and brain inflammation. This lecture will discuss the critical role of mast cells in neuro-inflammatory diseases, their related biomarkers in autism and therapeutic targets.
